About Easy Search

Proto easy.jpg

This form provides quick access to the most popular content in LexisNexis Academic. The Easy Search page is the default screen. As you can see, there are six widgets on the Easy Search form. This combination of widgets should help you accomplish most basic research tasks such as:

  • Search newspaper articles by Subject and Source
  • Find a legal case by Citation or Party Name
  • Find a company profile by Name or Ticker Symbol
  • Find a country profile
  • Research a person
  • Research a topic through various publication types

Search the News

The "Search the News" widget allows you to do a general news search by topic. One box is provided for you to input your search term and two other boxes are provided for you to select a source. Selecting a specific source type or a specific source will narrow your results set and bring you more relevant results. You may select a group source from the drop-down box, such as:

  • Major World Publications
  • Newspapers
  • Magazines
  • Wire Services
  • Broadcast Transcripts
  • Blogs
  • All News

Or, you can start typing your source name in the second input box. The auto-complete technology will show you the most popular sources that match your input. If your source is not found, simply click the "Sources" link on the widget to go to the Source Directory. From here, you can search through our over 13,000 sources to find the exact one you need.

For a more precise search and the ability to select Boolean Operators such as BYLINE() and HLEAD(), click the link provided to navigate to the All News form.
