Investigations made by Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) agents are one source for studying immigration to the United States. Archival materials available in microfilm from LexisNexis allow researchers to study the large influx of immigrants to the United States in the early twentieth century. The links below lead to the user guides for to the microfilm editions of the INS Subject Correspondence Files. These files are the central correspondence files of the Bureau of Immigration, the predecessor of the INS.
