A common assignment is to research the major news that occurred on your birthday. You can easily do this on the power search form.
- Click "Show" (in the same spot as "hide" on the above picture) to display the Document Section boxes.
- Select DATE from the Section drop-down box.
- Type the equal sign and any date you'd like in the terms box. In this case, "=8/2/1982"
- Click the link to add this date to your search.
- Click the red OK-Continue button to find your results.
You can also use this function to search all articles before or after a certain date. Simply replace the equal sign with a greater than/less than sign. For example, if you wanted to search for all articles before 8/2/1982, you would type "<8/2/1982" in the Terms box.
