Types of Reports
LexisNexis is developing a usage reporting system that complies with the Counter standard. As a database aggregator, rather than a journals service, LexisNexis is required by the COUNTER standard to provide the Database 3 (DB3) report, which shows searches and sessions by database. LexisNexis will provide additional, custom reports on number of retrievals by database with detail LexisNexis "library" and "file" classification.
Update Frequency
In accordance with COUNTER guidelines, monthly data will uploaded to the system prior to end of the subsequent month.
SUSHI
The new system will support the SUSHI standard for automated delivery of usage data.
Accessing Your Reports
To access your reports, you must register with LexisNexis to receive credentials and instructions. Only authorized employees of subscribing institutions may receive credentials. To request your credentials please complete the Self-Registration Form.
Analytical Tools
In addition to providing COUNTER reports in the specified text file format, the LexisNexis usage reporting system includes powerful analytical tools similar to those in the LexisNexis Statistical DataSets product. These tools will allow users to analyze trends and select specific data elements for export. The screenshot below shows the trend view of searches in LexisNexis Academic by month for the fictitious "LexisNexis University."
