Attention AUR Users

Notice for user attempting to access http://www3.lexisnexis.com/aur

The Academic Usage Report (AUR) system that was in use before 2010 is no longer available. Login credentials for the AUR system did not transfer to the new COUNTER usage report system. You must register for a new ID. Please follow the directions below for Getting Access to Your Reports.

Types of Reports

The LexisNexis usage reporting and analysis system provides reports that comply with the Project Counter Code of Practice 3. As a database aggregator, rather than a journals service, LexisNexis is required by the COUNTER standard to provide the Database 3 (DB3) report, which shows searches and sessions by database, and the Consortium 2 report.

LexisNexis does not provide JR1 and Consortium 1 reports showing retrievals by publication title. These reports are not required and not appropriate for aggregator databases.

LexisNexis provides additional data on document retrievals by database, with detail LexisNexis "library" and "file" classification. These data are available through the Analytical Tools described below.

SUSHI

The new system will support the SUSHI standard for automated delivery of usage data.

Support for SUSHI is expected to be added to the system shortly.

Products Covered

Usage reports will be provided for the following products, which have been developed for the U.S. higher education, secondary education, and public library markets.

  • Academic
  • Congressional
  • Government Periodicals Index
  • Library Express
  • Scholastic
  • State Capital
  • Statistical

Other products may be covered for customers outside the U.S. Please note that we are not able to produce usage data for the "Primary Sources in U.S. History" products because they are on a unique platform that does not log usage data to our data repository. Our expectation is that we will upgrade or replace these products within a few years.

Dates Covered

Monthly data on searches and retrievals will be provided for January 2008 forward. Data on session counts were not captured by LexisNexis before January 2009 and so are not available for 2008.

Update Frequency

In accordance with COUNTER guidelines, monthly data will uploaded to the system prior to end of the subsequent month. In practice, updates may occur as early as the 10th of the month.

Getting Access to Your Reports

To access your reports, you must register with LexisNexis to receive credentials and instructions. Only authorized employees of subscribing institutions may receive credentials. If you have registered for reports but forgotten your password, please go to the log in page and use the "Forgot My Password" feature.

  • Subscribers from other countries should register through their LexisNexis sales or customer service representative. For contact information, please see our Worldwide Selector.

Analytical Tools

In addition to providing COUNTER reports in the specified text file format, the LexisNexis usage reporting system includes powerful a powerful analytical interface that was first developed for the LexisNexis Statistical DataSets product. The analytical tools available in this interface allow users to analyze trends and select specific data elements for export. The screenshot below shows the trend view of searches in LexisNexis Academic by month for the fictitious "LexisNexis University." Instructions for using the tools are provided at the Help within the usage reporting system.
