Find Federal And State Cases

Follow the instructions below to find a specific case in the Legal Search form in LexisNexis Library Express.

After clicking the Legal Tab,

  1. Click the "Federal & State Cases" link on the right side of the screen.
  2. If you would like to get a case by case name, enter a name (or both names) in the "Case Name" boxes. Although the formal name of the case is "Roe v. Wade", entering "Wade v. Roe" will return the same results. Use this box to also type in citation numbers, legal topics, judges, attourneys, or regular search term.
  3. Select the type of field that applies to the term in #2.
  4. You may also select a date or a particular type of court by Jurisdiction, including states.
